International projects

International research projects at KVUH build on the professional collaboration between physicians and scientists and their international partners. They arise from shared research topics, professional contacts, and long-standing professional relationships.
KVUH participates in various types of projects—ranging from smaller collaborations to large-scale international consortium projects within European and other programs. In individual projects, it acts as the coordinating institution, principal investigator, or partner.
RITA-MI2 (Horizon 2020)
The RITA-MI2 project is an international multicenter Phase IIb clinical trial focused on evaluating the efficacy of rituximab in reducing heart muscle damage following acute myocardial infarction. KVUH participates as a key clinical site within a 13-member European consortium led by the French INSERM. The project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program.
VEGANScreener
The VEGANScreener project focuses on the development and validation of a digital tool for assessing dietary quality among the European vegan population. KVUH is conducting a clinical validation study in the Czech Republic as part of an international collaboration involving several European institutions. The project is funded by the JPI HDHL (Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life) initiative.
DAMPT-SHOCK AMI
The DAMPT-SHOCK AMI project is a large-scale academic randomized clinical trial focused on patients with cardiogenic shock. It is one of the largest studies of its kind in Europe, involving more than 600 patients. The project contributes to the development of treatment protocols in acute cardiology.
